Admission

Aoyagi: adults 500 yen, junior and senior high 300 yen, elementary 200 yen (groups of 20+: 450 / 250 / 150). Ishiguro: adults (high school and above) 500 yen, elementary and junior high 300 yen (groups of 15+: 400 / 200). Kawarada: adults (high school and above) 500 yen, elementary and junior high 300 yen (groups of 20+: 400 / 200). No fee is listed for the Iwahashi, Odano and former Matsumoto houses.

Getting there

15-25 min on foot from JR Kakunodate Station, depending on the house. About 60 min from Akita Airport by the "Akita Airport Liner Nyuto" shuttle. An on-demand local transport service ("Yobunoru Kakunodate") is available. Pick up a walking map at the Kakunodate Ekimae-gura tourist center in front of the station.

City-run Sakuranamiki car park (124-2 Kitano, Kakunodate; paid): 8:30-16:30 (basically free outside these hours); cars 500 yen, mid-size 1,000 yen, large vehicles 2,000 yen.
