Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi / しものせき水族館「海響館」
Shimonoseki Aquarium Kaikyokan
An aquarium with a dolphin and sea lion show and fugu exhibits unique to Shimonoseki. New areas include "Fugu-pedia" on the charms of pufferfish and "Hireashi Beach" modelled on a sea lion beach, plus a large tank recreating the currents of the Kanmon Straits and "Penguin Village", one of Japan's largest penguin exhibits. It displays a genuine full blue whale skeleton, one of only a few in the world.
