Isaniwa Shrine
At the top of 135 stone steps, from which you can look over the old townscape of Dogo, stand vivid vermilion buildings counted as one of Japan's three great Hachiman-style shrines and designated a national Important Cultural Property. Through the tower gate you can see gold-leafed pillars and carved kaerumata brackets, and many materials on wasan (traditional Japanese mathematics) offered to the shrine remain in the corridor, showing that it flourished in Matsuyama.
