Sakura, Chiba / ひよどり坂
Hiyodori-zaka Slope
An old path next to the samurai residence street, surrounded by beautiful bamboo groves almost unchanged since the Edo period. Also called "the Samurai Path", it is a gently curving slope, with a bench halfway where you can rest. The Japan Heritage Sakura castle-town "Samurai Walk" tour lets you wear samurai costume and visit the slope, samurai houses and Makata Shrine with a guide.
