Okamoto Pier (Haraoka Pier)
One of the few wooden sea piers in Japan, between Haraoka and Tatara-Kitahama beaches. Built for fishing in 1921, its nostalgic Showa-retro look is its charm. From the pier jutting into Tomiura Bay you can see across to the Miura Peninsula and Izu, and on fine days Mt. Fuji beyond the sea; people come for the view of sunset and Fuji's silhouette. It often appears in TV commercials.
