Komono, Mie / 御在所ロープウエイ
Gozaisho Ropeway
One of the largest ropeways in the world, 2,161 m long with a height difference of 780 m, taking about 15 minutes one way. Azaleas colour the mountain in spring and red dragonflies escape the heat in summer; the autumn leaves start at the summit park in mid-October and come down to the foot by late November, and in winter there is rime ice and the only ski area in Mie.
