Gifu Castle
A castle on the summit of Mt. Kinka, known as impregnable, once the seat of Saito Dosan and then Oda Nobunaga, who is said to have renamed the place Gifu. The present castle was rebuilt in Showa 31 (1956). The keep is closed for renovation from May 19, 2026 until late October 2027 (planned).

From JR/Meitetsu Gifu, Gifu Bus to Gifu Koen/Gifu-jo, 3 minutes on foot to the ropeway, about 4 minutes up, then about 8 minutes on foot.
