Mar 1 - Nov 3: 8:30-17:00; Nov 4 - end of Feb: 8:30-16:30. Tickets stop 10 min before closing (at that point you may only see the Konjikido, not the Sankozo museum).

Admission

The ticket covers the Sankozo museum, Konjikido, Kyozo sutra hall and the old Oido shelter. Standard ticket (Konjikido and Sankozo): adults 1,000 yen, high school 700, junior high 500, elementary 300. Combined ticket with the special hidden-Buddha viewing: 1,600 / 900 / 700 / 500 yen (the hidden-Buddha ticket alone does not cover Konjikido or Sankozo). 10% off for groups of 30+; half price with a disability certificate.

Getting there

JR Tohoku Line from Ichinoseki to Hiraizumi (9 min; Tohoku Shinkansen Sendai to Ichinoseki 32 min). Hiraizumi loop bus "Runrun" or the Iwate Kotsu bus Ichinoseki Sta. - Hiraizumi Sta. - Chusonji. By car, Hiraizumi-Maesawa IC.

Parking

Car park 1 (about 850 m to the main hall): 400 yen per car (large vehicles 950 yen), open all year, 8:30-17:00 in Mar-Nov and 8:30-16:30 in Dec-Feb. Car park 2 (about 700 m): 400 yen, irregular closures Dec-Mar. The nearest is the private Sakanoue car park (about 240 m, 30 cars, 500 yen).
