Aya Teruha Suspension Bridge
A pedestrian suspension bridge 142 m high and 250 m long over the Ayagawa gorge in Kyushu Chuo Sanchi Quasi-National Park, one of the largest in Japan, giving the thrill of walking in the air with one of Japan's largest evergreen broadleaf forests and a wide sky before you. Aya was registered as a UNESCO Eco Park in 2012 for its community-building in harmony with nature. The Teruha Forest Culture Hall stands before the bridge, and a nature trail of about 2 km runs along the slope on the far side.
