Yokosuka, Kanagawa / ヴェルニー公園
Verny Park
A French-style park facing the site of the former Yokosuka Iron Works, which the French engineer Verny helped build; about 1,300 rose bushes of about 130 varieties grow in themed beds. Rose Festas are held in May and October, and the Verny Memorial Hall displays steam hammers actually used at the iron works.
