Takasakiyama Monkey Park
One of Japan's leading natural zoos at the foot of Mt. Takasaki (628 m), between Oita and Beppu, where you can watch wild Japanese macaques close up. At feeding time many monkeys gather at the feeding ground, and staff explain their ecology and habits throughout the day. The "Sarukko Rail" monorail runs to the feeding ground with a view of Beppu Bay.
