A Yakushima natural recreation forest designated as a "recreation forest", a place where people and forests meet, where even those not confident of their stamina can see Yakusugi cedars over 1,000 years old and the island's primeval forest. In spring, the view from Taiko-iwa rock of mountain cherries, fresh green and Mt. Miyanoura, the highest peak in Kyushu, is refreshing. There are three courses: Yayoi-sugi (60 minutes), Bugyo-sugi (3 hours) and Taiko-iwa return (4 hours).
