Lake Shibayamagata
The symbol of Katayamazu Onsen, a lake that changes the colour of its surface several times a day. You can fish and go boating, see wintering birds such as tundra swans, and ride a cycling road about 7 km around the lake; in good weather Mt. Hakusan can be seen. The Ukimido (Ukiuki Benten) hall, which seems to float on the lake, is linked to Yunomoto Park by a floating pier you can walk across, and is lit up at dusk.
