About 5 minutes on foot from JR Akita Station to the pocket park, about 15 minutes to the Ninomaru area. By bus, about 5 minutes on foot to the Ninomaru area from the Milhas-mae stop of the Gururu town loop bus, or about 7 minutes from the Senshu Koen Iriguchi stop of Akita Chuo Kotsu; about 15 minutes by car from Akita-chuo IC.

Two paid car parks: Otemon-dori (open 24 hours all year, 31 spaces) and Osaka (April 1 to November 30, 14 spaces). Both cost 100 yen for the first 30 minutes and 100 yen per 30 minutes after that; the Osaka car park is closed during the cherry blossom festival.

About 80% of the cherry trees are Somei-yoshino. Because the park is on high ground, they bloom 1-2 days later than the official forecast around Ninomaru and 4-5 days later around Honmaru; full bloom usually lasts about 3 days.
