Sanzen-in Temple, Ohara
A famous temple with beautiful scenery in every season, one of the five Tendai monzeki temples, said to have begun as a hall built by Saicho on Mt. Hiei. The Ojo Gokuraku-in hall enshrines the National Treasure Amida triad, and in the moss garden you will find "warabe jizo" statues by the stone sculptor Sugimura Takashi. A visit takes 40 to 60 minutes.
