Nagato, Yamaguchi / 千畳敷
Senjojiki Highland
A grassy plateau 333 m above sea level, with a grand panorama of islands in the Sea of Japan and the endless sea and sky below: "a great hall overlooking the Sea of Japan". Crinum lilies, azaleas, camellias and sasanqua colour the highland through the seasons, and on summer nights you can see the lights of fishing boats. It is also popular as a campsite.
