M-Wave (Nagano Olympic Memorial Arena)
The arena used for speed skating at the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics and for the Paralympic opening and closing ceremonies. In summer it is a multi-purpose arena, and in winter an ice rink for international competitions and the public; its roof of repeated "M" shapes recalls the Shinshu mountains. The Nagano Olympic Museum inside is free.
