Aso, Kumamoto / 草千里ヶ浜
Kusasenri
One of Aso's best-known sights, at about 1,100 m, with views of horses grazing at leisure and the smoking crater of Mt. Nakadake. The green is bright in summer, and in the depths of winter it can turn silver-white. The car park area has the Aso Volcano Museum, cafes, restaurants and souvenir shops.
