Himeji, Hyogo / 好古園
Kokoen Garden
A Japanese stroll garden on the site of the western residence of Himeji Castle, using the castle as borrowed scenery. Opened in 1992, it has nine gardens of different character in the Edo-period style, and you can enjoy matcha and Japanese sweets at the Sojuan teahouse. The autumn-leaf light-up is a highlight.
