One of Tohoku's great cherry-blossom spots on the Kitakami River, with a 2 km avenue of cherry trees from Sango Bridge and about 10,000 trees of some 150 kinds.

About 20 minutes on foot from the east exit of JR Kitakami Station to the start of the cherry avenue (near Sango Bridge); the avenue is about 2 km long. A taxi from the east exit to the Tenshochi rest house costs about 1,500 yen (as of 2024).
