A hot-spring resort 5 min from Hanamaki IC, developed in 1923, with a rose garden of 6,000 bushes and a sundial flower bed designed by Kenji Miyazawa, plus day bathing at three hotels.

Rose garden 8:00-17:00 (until 16:30 in winter; varies by season). Day bathing: Senshu and Momiji baths 8:00-10:00 and 12:00-21:00; Hanamaki bath 8:00-12:00 and 14:00-21:00.

Rose garden: adults (junior high and above) 1,000, 500 or 800 yen depending on the period, and free at other times; children free. Day bathing: weekdays 1,200 yen (elementary 600), weekends, holidays and special days 1,500 yen (750).

About 5 min from Hanamaki IC (4 km straight on; look for the white gate), 15 min by car from Iwate Hanamaki Airport, 20 min from JR Shin-Hanamaki or Hanamaki Station. A free shuttle runs from the stations (booking required).

Free parking for 600 cars and 30 coaches across the resort, with wheelchair spaces in the hotels' indoor car parks.
