Closed

Mondays (if a holiday, open and closed the next day) and Dec 29 - Jan 3. Special opening days: the 11th of every month, Jun 12, Sep 1 and Nov 5; if one falls on a Monday, the museum closes the next day. Temporarily closed on Wednesday, November 18, 2026, for staff training and a disaster drill: you can still enter the grounds and view from the schoolyard, but the car park, bus stop area and toilets inside cannot be used.

Admission

Adults 600 yen, high school 300 yen, elementary and junior high 200 yen (groups of 20+: 500 / 200 / 100 yen; annual pass 1,500 / 750 / 500 yen). Free for preschool children, and for disability-certificate holders plus one carer.

Getting there

Bus from stop 1 at Ishinomaki Station (Yamashita-Kadonowaki line) to "Shinsai Iko Kadonowaki Shogakko-mae" (about 12 min). About 10 min by taxi or 15 min by rental bicycle from the station. About 15 min by car from Ishinomaki-ko IC or Ishinomaki-Kanan IC.

Parking

Car park for 32 cars and 3 priority spaces, plus 2 bus drop-off spaces. Buses should park at the Ishinomaki Minamihama Tsunami Memorial Park. Do not stop on the road.
