Jorakuji Temple (Konan Sanzan)
A Tendai temple about 3.2 km southeast of JR Ishibe Station, the centre of the "Aboshiyama 5,000 lodges" opened by Roben in the mid-Nara period. At the end of the tree-lined approach stands the National Treasure main hall, rebuilt in the Nanboku-cho period, with the hidden Buddha Senju Kannon; up the steps beside it is a three-storey pagoda.
