Shiga Prefectural Center for Archaeological Operations
Since opening on April 1, 1980, the centre has surveyed and studied sites and artefacts across Shiga, where people have lived around Lake Biwa since early times, and sorts and stores excavated objects and records. Its permanent exhibition in the lobby focuses on learning Shiga's history from buried cultural properties found in the prefecture.
