Iwaki City Ammonite Center
The first museum in Japan built on a fossil site, displaying many ammonite fossils just as they were found. Its highlight is fossil digging: collect a helmet, gloves, hammer and chisel at reception and dig at the outdoor quarry for shells, shark teeth and ammonites from 89 million years ago; it is enjoyed by children and adults alike.
