Yokohama, Kanagawa / 日本郵船氷川丸
NYK Hikawa Maru
A high-speed cargo-passenger liner built in 1930 for the Seattle route, moored off Yamashita Park; the only surviving pre-war Japanese-built cargo-passenger ship, designated an Important Cultural Property in 2016. The restored interior includes the suite used by Charlie Chaplin, the main hall and the first-class dining room, and the bridge and engine room remain almost as built; the open deck is open on weekends and holidays.
