Betabumi-zaka (Eshima Ohashi Bridge)
The Eshima Ohashi Bridge, 1,446 m long over Nakaumi, links Eshima in Matsue with Sakaiminato in Tottori; completed in 2004 with "wind" as its design theme. The 250 m span between its two central piers is the longest in the East for a PC rigid-frame bridge and third in the world, and it stands 44.7 m above the water. It became famous as "Betabumi-zaka" (floor-it slope) after appearing in a car TV commercial in December 2013; the steep grade can be seen from the Matsue side.
