Hamamatsu, Shizuoka / 弁天島海浜公園
Bentenjima Seaside Park
A park on Lake Hamana with a striking red symbol tower, 3 minutes on foot from JR Bentenjima Station, where rows of palm trees create a southern-resort feel. It is loved as the scenic "Benten Sekisho" (Benten sunset): from late November to late January the sun sets in the middle of the tower. In summer its calm beach is busy, and at low tide you can play on the natural tidal flat "Ikarise".
