Maniwa, Okayama / 湯原温泉砂湯
Yubara Onsen Sunayu
A popular hot spring along the Asahi River below Yubara Dam, with plentiful, highly alkaline water. The symbol of the town is "Sunayu", a large natural open-air bath formed by hot water springing from the riverbed; thanks to local cooperation it is open free 24 hours a day. It has been ranked "yokozuna of the west" in a national open-air bath ranking, and has pools at different temperatures.
