Yanai White-walled Townscape
Edo-period merchant houses line both sides of a stone-paved street about 200 m long, keeping the look of a commercial town that prospered as the "storehouse of the Iwakuni domain". The local craft "Yanai goldfish lanterns" sway under the eaves; there are merchant houses that are Important Cultural Properties, facilities to try traditional crafts, and cafes.
