Usuki Castle Ruins (Usuki Park)
A castle built in 1562 (Eiroku 5) by the Christian daimyo Otomo Sorin on Nyu Island in Usuki Bay, and in the Edo period the castle of the Usuki domain (50,000 koku) ruled by the Inaba family. Once surrounded by the sea, it is now joined to the land by reclamation; the ruins are laid out as Usuki Park, and about 300 cherry trees bloom in spring.
