- Opening hours
Gates open 6:00-17:00 (Apr-Oct) and 7:00-17:00 (Nov-Mar). After 17:00 you cannot go up to the shrine building, though the park stays open. On New Year's Day the gates open at midnight.

Bus from JR Yonezawa Station to "Uesugi Jinja-mae (Uesugi Joshien)", or about 10 min by taxi. About 15 min by car from Yonezawa-Chuo, Yonezawa-Kita or Yawatabara IC.
