Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route

One of the world's leading mountain sightseeing routes, cutting through the Northern Alps with their 3,000 m peaks: 37.2 km in total with a maximum height difference of 1,975 m, all within Chubu-Sangaku National Park. You change between vehicles from Tateyama Station in Toyama to Ogizawa Station in Nagano, passing scenic spots such as Mikurigaike, the Tateyama Ropeway (Japan's longest single-span ropeway with no supporting pillars) and Kurobe Dam. In spring the "Snow Otani" snow walls, up to about 20 m, can be seen until about late June.
