Tsugaru, Aomori / 高山稲荷神社

Takayama Inari Shrine

An Inari shrine in Aomori with countless vermilion torii gates, each about 2 m high, lined up in a row; cherry blossoms in spring, fresh green in summer and white snow in winter set off the torii, and the high ground beyond them looks over the whole scene. Many stone foxes also stand in the grounds. It is said to date from the Kamakura to Muromachi periods.
