Shimoda, Shizuoka / 龍宮窟
Ryugukutsu Sea Cave
A sea cave at Toji in Shimoda, carved by waves, whose partly collapsed ceiling has left a skylight about 50 m across; you can see the yellow-brown layers of undersea volcanic deposits up close. From the path around it, the skylight looks like a heart. Parts of the cave and path have poor footing, so wear comfortable shoes.
