Nichinan Coast
A coastline of about 100 km from southern Miyazaki City to Cape Toi at the southern tip of the prefecture, across Miyazaki, Nichinan and Kushima, symbolising tropical Miyazaki with blue sea and sky, phoenix palms and southern flowers. The varied coast has "hajo-iwa" rocks, Chinese fan palms and jacaranda blossoms, making it an ideal driving road, with sights such as Horikiri Pass, Aoshima and Udo-jingu. There are also rocky reef areas where corals grow and tropical fish swim, and it is one of Japan's leading surf spots.
