To the summit shrine: bus for Hagurosan-cho from JR Tsuruoka Station, 50 min to the last stop. To the foot of the stone steps: same bus, 35 min to "Haguro Center". By car 30-40 min from Shonai-Asahi IC.

Visiting respectfully
- NatureIn winter the steps to the pagoda are not cleared and are very slippery (on rainy or snowy days, borrow boots at the Ideha Museum). Beyond the pagoda nothing is cleared, so go back to the Zuishin-mon gate and take the bus or a car to the summit.Checked 25 Sept 2026 on the official site
