By car about 1.5-2 hours from Sendai: Sanriku Expressway to Shizugawa IC, then turn right, about 5 min. Highway bus from Sendai Station Highway Bus Center stop 40: 5 buses a day, about 1 hr 30 min, 1,900 yen one way (children half price); get off at BRT Shizugawa Station, right in front of the shopping village. By train and BRT: JR Tohoku Line to Kogota, Kesennuma Line to Yanaizu (or Maeyachi), then the BRT bus to Shizugawa Station, about 2-2.5 hours, 1,570 yen.
