Kure Taishomachi Market
A fishing-town market with over 100 years of history, dating from the mid-Meiji era. After a great fire in the Taisho era, funds for rebuilding were sent by Emperor Taisho, so the street was renamed Taishomachi and the market has been called Taishomachi Market ever since. You can buy fresh local fish, dried fish, vegetables and fruit, and eateries serve mainly fresh local fish.
