Kokusai-dori Street
A street in Naha near the Okinawa Prefectural Office, lined for about 1.6 km with souvenir shops, variety stores, izakaya, cafes and restaurants. It was called the "Miracle Mile" for recovering quickly in a city left in ruins by the Pacific War. Every Sunday (not in rain) from 12:00 to 18:00, about 1.3 km is closed to ordinary cars for the "Transit Mile", with open cafes, street performances and events.
