Koishikawa Korakuen Gardens

One of Tokyo's notable historic Japanese gardens, a "stroll-style" garden centred on a pond. Tokugawa Yorifusa, founder of the Mito Tokugawa family, began it, and his son Mitsukuni completed it in 1669 with the help of the Ming scholar Zhu Shunshui. Famous scenes of Japan and China, such as Shorozan (Mt. Lu), Daisensui (Lake Biwa) and the Kiso Road, are recreated, so the view changes as you walk. There are cherry blossoms in spring, irises and lotus in summer, autumn leaves and plum in early spring. It is next to Tokyo Dome and Korakuen Hall.
