Hakuba Happo-one (Happo Alpine Line and Happo Pond)
Take the Happo gondola to Usagidaira, the centre of Happo-one at 1,400 m with restaurants and an open terrace, looking beyond Hakuba village to Yatsugatake and Mt. Asama. Higher up, Happo Pond at 2,060 m is a natural pond formed from sediment pushed down by snow and filled with rain and meltwater; in early summer you can see the snowy Hakuba Sanzan across the water.
