Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum
A museum specialising in geology and palaeontology centred on dinosaurs, called one of the world's three great dinosaur museums for its scale and content. Its three zones, "World of Dinosaurs", "Earth Sciences" and "History of Life", show 50 complete dinosaur skeletons, thousands of fossils and huge dioramas, with a moving Tyrannosaurus and a Dino Theater. Hands-on programmes let you clean fossils or try excavation. The silver building has a column-free structure that leaves the exhibition space open.
