Fujisawa, Kanagawa / 江島神社
Enoshima Shrine
One of the most popular spots in Shonan and Enoshima, the collective name for three shrines, Hetsunomiya, Nakatsunomiya and Okutsunomiya, each dedicated to one of three sister goddesses; it also enshrines the Happi Benzaiten and Myoon Benzaiten, counted among Japan's three great Benzaiten. Nakatsunomiya has a vermilion hall with painted flowers and birds on its coffered ceiling, and Okutsunomiya has the "turtle that glares in all directions".
