Muroto, Kochi / 室戸岬

Cape Muroto

Long known as a dangerous stretch of sea, Cape Muroto has a coast of jagged rocks with subtropical forest and coastal plants. It was designated part of the Muroto-Anan Coast Quasi-National Park in June 1964 and certified as a Global Geopark in September 2011, a place to feel the workings of the earth, with many legends left by Kukai.
