THE BOTANICAL RESORT RINNE

The Ibaraki Prefectural Botanical Garden in Naka reopened on November 29, 2025 as "THE BOTANICAL RESORT RINNE", which calls itself Japan's first "botanical garden you can stay in". It has glamping and cottages (45 units) in the greenery, a tropical plant house with about 23,000 plants of about 240 species in four zones and a "Vanilla Dome Cafe" with more than 50 vanilla trees, restaurants using Ibaraki produce, a hot-spring and sauna facility, and forest activities such as a tree adventure and a 150 m zip line.

Getting there

About 10 minutes by taxi from Kami-Sugaya Station (JR Suigun Line); about 30 minutes by taxi from Mito Station (JR Joban Line); Ibaraki Kotsu bus for Omiya from Mito Station, or bus for Mito Station from Omiya Station (JR Suigun Line), to Tozaki Jumonji, then about 20 minutes on foot; about 10 minutes by car from Naka IC (Joban Expressway); from Mito, along Route 118 towards Omiya and Daigo, turn left at Tozaki Jumonji, about 1.3 km; from Daigo and Omiya, along Route 118 towards Mito, turn right at Tozaki Jumonji, about 1.3 km.
