Yoyogi Park
Yoyogi Park, 3 minutes on foot from JR Harajuku Station, is fifth in size among the Tokyo metropolitan parks, divided into a forest park and an area with an athletics field and an outdoor stage. It was once the army's Yoyogi parade ground, became US military housing after the war, served as the athletes' village for the Tokyo Olympics, and then became a park. Together with the trees of neighbouring Meiji Jingu it forms a dense green forest. On weekends many families and couples come for picnics, and you can ride the cycling course on a rental bike.
