Naena Falls
One of Japan's "100 Best Waterfalls", Naena Falls drops 55 m on the Seki River at the Niigata-Nagano border. It is most popular in spring, when meltwater pours down, and in the autumn-leaf season, and is also pleasant and cool in summer. Its roar was once so fierce it echoed like an earthquake, giving it the nickname "Jishin-daki" (earthquake falls). A path leads from the car park to the viewing point in about 15 minutes. The rock wall is basalt with well-developed columnar joints. It is also the start or finish of the "Myoko Kogen Nature Trail", a designated forest therapy road.

20 minutes by bus from Myoko-Kogen Station (Echigo Tokimeki Railway Myoko Haneuma Line), change at Suginosawa Onsen to the loop bus for 10 minutes, then 15 minutes on foot; 15 minutes by car from Myoko-Kogen IC (Joshin-etsu Expressway), then 15 minutes on foot.
