Nobeoka, Miyazaki / 道の駅北浦
Michi-no-Eki Kitaura
A roadside station on Route 388 in Nippo Kaigan Quasi-National Park, inside the "Shimoaso Beach Resort Hamayu-mura" with cabins, an auto campsite, an athletic course and salt fields. Shimoaso Beach in front was the only beach in Kyushu chosen as a special selection of Japan's 100 best beaches. The shop sells seafood from the fishing town of Kitaura, such as oysters, turban shells, sardines and sea bream, and "Tsuki no Shio" salt made in the salt fields; the restaurant overlooks the coast.
