Kuma, Kumamoto / 球泉洞
Kyusendo Cave
A limestone cave about 4,800 m long, the second longest in western Japan (third in Japan), whose columns and stalagmites, formed over 300 million years, are still growing. There are two courses: a general course taking 30 minutes round the cave, and an exploration course descending a 40 m shaft by stairs; there are also a shop of local products, restaurants, a terrace overlooking Kuma village and a dog run.
